Mandi is the founder, Director and Head Dance Instructor for Bees’ Knees Dance in Toronto and St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. She is passionate about creating an inclusive and welcoming learning environment for adults with absolutely no experience to learn their first dance steps. She firmly believes that anyone can dance and that learning to dance as an adult can enrich a person’s life. She loves to teach and to share her enthusiasm for Lindy Hop, Solo Vintage Jazz & Charleston, Amateur Musical Theatre, Rock n’ Roll, Dance Fitness and other related dances. In additional to teaching across Canada and in the United States, Mandi has taught classes and workshops in Switzerland, Sweden, Russia, China and South Korea.
As a swing dance specialist, Mandi Gould has been dancing the Lindy Hop since the beginning of 1998. She has had the privilege of teaching with Frankie Manning for three different workshops and with Chazz Young for two, as well as having spent intimate time working with the Harlem Hot Shots in Sweden. In 2002 she directed her swing missionary efforts to Saint Petersburg and Moscow where she helped to push the Russian Lindy Hop communities forward. In 2003 she managed two North American tours for the Harlem Hotshots on the West Coast and in the North East. From 2002 to 2004 she assisted as an administrator for the Herräng Dance Camp, was Herräng’s original DJ Coordinator, and organized the Swing Bus in 2004 before returning to Canada and resuming her teaching base at home.
